A nice little 2LP set that compiles all the work that Ben Webster did for Emarcy in the early 50s – including one sextet session with Benny Carter and Gerald Wiggins, dates done with the Johnny Richards Orchestra, the Marshall Royal Quintet, Johnny Otis, Jay McShann, Dinah Washington, and LP, Vinyl record album.

Ben Webster, a.k.a. "The Brute" or "Frog", was considered one of the three most important "swing tenors" along with Coleman Hawkins (his main influence) and Lester Young. Known affectionately as "The Brute", he had a tough, raspy, and brutal tone on stomps (with his own distinctive growls), yet on ballads he played with warmth and sentiment.
